FIS Alpine World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017

Gripping and thrilling moments in St. Moritz

In the Engadine, the final round is about to begin - on 6 February, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2017 will start in St. Moritz. auviso is the Official Supplier of the Ski World Championships in the field of event technology. We are responsible for the technical planning and implementation of the entire supporting programme. In other words, for the sound, lighting and video technology.
The supporting programme will mainly take place at three locations: 1. the finish area and Public Village in Salastrains | 2. Medal Plaza on Kulm Park | 3. pedestrian zone in the village.
The heart of the festivities will be the opening ceremony on 6 February at Kulm Park. This will thrill thousands of spectators on site and the television audience of millions. Throughout the event, we will also be responsible for ensuring that the presenters and athletes are heard and seen during the bib draw and medal ceremony.
The planning already started in May last year and the preparatory work has been in full swing since October: empty pipes have to be laid, foundations built and cables pulled. The big challenges are the general conditions in St. Moritz: the snow, the access roads and the increased safety measures. The most exciting and technically complex part will be the opening ceremony. The ceremony will be broadcast live to various countries and thus to an audience of millions. But the show will also be an unforgettable experience for the approximately 5,000 spectators on site.
We are looking forward to challenging and exciting racing days in St. Moritz. Do you already have tickets? Take part in this first-class event in the Engadine. Or visit us in the marquee "Calanda Plaza" or at the many live acts on the Kulm Park.
