Zurich's main station becomes a winter stage. At Polarzauber 2025, auviso is creating a special highlight with the Aurora Borealis light installation. Together with the agency THRYVE and the event organizer, we developed and technically implemented a new concept for staging the northern lights.
In addition to the impressive light installation, we were also responsible for the complete sound system in the station concourse and the Baba Noel Bar. We also realized the technical implementation of audio and video in the pixel tunnel. The auroras and the entire sound system were fully time-controlled on a daily basis and were permanently monitored remotely. This ensured reliable operation over the entire duration.
A total of around 15 tons of material was used. The implementation was based on a short, intensive planning and sampling phase in close cooperation with the customer. The project was also characterized by high demands on planning, coordination and timing, as a large part of the installation was carried out at night during ongoing station operations.
The result is an immersive experience that appeals to all the senses and transforms Zurich's main station into an atmospheric winter wonderland.
