An immersive concert experience at Piuskirche Meggen
Interdisciplinary productions require not only artistic sensitivity but also meticulous attention to technical detail. As part of Lucerne Festival Pulse, we handled the technical production of a performance at the Piuskirche in Meggen.
As part of Lucerne Festival Pulse, we realized an interdisciplinary project with high artistic standards in the Piuskirche Meggen: a light installation developed by Olafur Eliasson was combined with the interpretation of Bach's "Goldberg Variations" by pianist Víkingur Ólafsson to create a concert experience in which architecture, light and music merged into a harmonious total work of art.
The Pius Church provides an extraordinary basis for this: translucent marble panels characterize the façade and make the building itself part of the visual effect. The audience experiences the performance in the interior, where the lighting moods unfold as an atmospheric spatial experience and combine with the live performance.
Our services included the planning, design and implementation of the audiovisual technology as well as the development of a customized, weatherproof solution for safe operation under demanding outdoor conditions. The implementation required precise coordination and close coordination between art, technology and architecture.
The result was an intense concert experience that combined artistic vision and technical implementation to create a harmonious whole.
