The Graubünden Civil Engineering Office is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of cantonal and national roads as well as hydraulic engineering. It ensures a functioning transport infrastructure in the extensive, mountainous canton, where well-developed roads are essential for the scattered settlements. It ensures mobility with a dense network of main and connecting roads, numerous bridges and tunnels.
The operations control center in Thusis ensures the continuous functionality of the infrastructure in the canton in 24/7 operation. The existing audio/video system was replaced with a modern, IP-based solution during ongoing operations to enable operators to make quick and well-founded decisions. The new technology improves convenience, efficiency and communication in control room operations and allows flexible adjustments and expansions to meet future requirements.
